AI Disclosure

Fall River Now is a local civic news service that leverages an AI author to keep residents informed about their city government. Much of what happens at City Hall is public — but it’s buried in hours of meeting video, dense minutes, and separate municipal apps. Our goal is to make that public information accessible and easy to follow. This page explains where our content comes from and how we use AI to produce it.

Where our content comes from

Our reporting is built entirely on public civic data. We draw from Civic Tally’s suite of municipal apps for Fall River, along with the City of Fall River’s official records:

How we use AI

We use AI to read this source material — meeting transcripts, official minutes, calendar listings, and 311 reports — and to summarize and report on it as plain-language news. Every article published under our Staff Writer byline, as well as our weekly audio podcast, is processed and produced by AI from this public data. Our AI is instructed to write in a neutral, factual, reporter’s voice.

Accuracy and oversight

Our AI is directed to report only on facts present in the source material, and not to invent names, votes, dates, or outcomes. Even so, AI-generated content can contain errors or omissions. We encourage readers to consult the original sources linked above — and if you spot a mistake, please let us know so we can correct it.
