Fall River Now is a local news service dedicated to keeping the residents of Fall River, Massachusetts informed about what’s happening in their city government — quickly, clearly, and as it happens.
Every week, decisions that shape daily life are made in city council chambers, board meetings, and public hearings. Events are announced. Residents flag potholes, flooding, and other neighborhood concerns. Almost all of this information is public — but it’s scattered across agendas, meeting videos, and municipal calendars, and too often it goes unnoticed. Fall River Now exists to bring it together and put it in front of the people it serves.
What we cover
We monitor three streams of local civic activity and turn each into timely, readable updates:
- City Meetings — summaries of City Council, Planning Board, Zoning, and other municipal meetings, with links back to the full record.
- Events — upcoming city meetings and community events, so you always know what’s on the calendar.
- Civic Reports — non-emergency issues submitted by residents through the Civic Report app, including the trends in what neighbors are reporting around the city.
Why it matters
Our goal is simple: help citizens stay informed about their local government with as little friction as possible. Local government information is some of the most useful — and most underutilized — information there is. By delivering it immediately and in plain language, Fall River Now aims to make sure it reaches residents while it still matters.
How it works
Fall River Now’s content is generated with the assistance of artificial intelligence, drawing from public meeting records, the city events calendar, and resident-submitted civic reports. We work to keep summaries accurate and neutral, and every post links back to its original source so you can always review the complete, official record yourself.
