FALL RIVER — The city will open two cooling centers for residents from Thursday, July 2, through Saturday, July 4, in response to forecasted extreme heat, the mayor’s office announced.
The centers will operate at the following locations and times:
- Government Center Cafeteria: Thursday, July 2, and Friday, July 3, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors should use the cafeteria entrance.
- Steppingstone Inc.: 134 Durfee St., on Saturday, July 4, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Officials urged residents to check on family and neighbors, drink plenty of water, and avoid strenuous activity during the high temperatures.
