The City of Fall River will open two cooling centers this week due to forecasted extreme heat, according to the mayor’s office.
The centers will be available to residents at the following locations and times:
- Fall River Government Center Cafeteria: Thursday, July 2, and Friday, July 3, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The entrance is through the cafeteria.
- Steppingstone Inc., 134 Durfee St.: Saturday, July 4, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Officials also advise residents to check on family and neighbors, stay hydrated, and avoid strenuous activity during the high temperatures. Questions can be directed to the Mayor’s Office at 508-324-2600.
