The Fall River Historical Commission will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2026, starting at 6 p.m.
The meeting will take place in the City Council Hearing Room, located on the first floor of One Government Center. Residents also have the option to attend the meeting virtually via Zoom.
The session is scheduled to run until 10 p.m., though the commission notes that the end time is subject to change depending on the agenda.

- Open Meeting Law Notice — An announcement or notice regarding the Open Meeting Law regulations for the meeting.
- Roll Call — A check to record the presence of the commission members in attendance.
- Approval of Minutes: Review and approval of July 21, 2026, meeting minutes. — The commission will review and vote on whether to approve the official record of their previous meeting from July 21, 2026.
- Citizens input — An opportunity for members of the public to share comments or address the commission.
- Notice of Demolition and Construction: 529 High Street – faulty brick front porch stairs to be removed and replaced with more time sensitive wooden stairs with relocation of porch column. — The commission will discuss the removal of faulty brick front porch stairs and their replacement with wooden stairs and a relocated porch column at 529 High Street.
- Letters of support: Mr. Joel Salamon – Letter of support for Charlton Mills. — The commission will review a letter from Mr. Joel Salamon supporting Charlton Mills.
- Letters of support: Ms. Erika Tarlin, Ryan LLC – Letter of Support for the following: a. Sanford Spinning Mills. b. Algonquin Mills. c. Horton Building. — The commission will review a letter of support from Ms. Erika Tarlin of Ryan LLC regarding Sanford Spinning Mills, Algonquin Mills, and the Horton Building.
- Letters of support: Mr. Nathan Curwen, Heritage Consulting Group – Letter of Support. a. 135 Alden Street. b. 110 Chace Street. c. 80-84 Main Street. d. 650 Plymouth Ave. — The commission will review a letter of support from Mr. Nathan Curwen of Heritage Consulting Group for properties at 135 Alden Street, 110 Chace Street, 80-84 Main Street, and 650 Plymouth Avenue.
- Correspondence: 753 Rock Street: Questions on Historic Status. — The commission will address questions regarding the historic status, district listings, and lack of current exterior restrictions for 753 Rock Street.
- Correspondence: 754 Highland Ave, Cambodian Temple had a question about fence repair. — The commission will address an inquiry regarding whether fence repair or replacement at the Cambodian Temple property is subject to historic regulations.
- Correspondence: The Parks Department had a request to remove a Historic Headstone from a family plot at the North Burial Grounds. — The commission will discuss a request involving a historic headstone removal at the North Burial Grounds and the relevant laws and regulations.
- Correspondence: Family Services wanted information on an elevator upgrade in a historic building on Rock Street. — The commission will discuss an inquiry regarding information on historic funding and presentation requirements for an elevator upgrade on Rock Street.
- New Business: Establish 2027 meeting dates for the upcoming year. — The commission will discuss and set the schedule of meeting dates for the year 2027.
- Old Business: Received final draft form from PAL (Public Archaeological Laboratories). — The commission will discuss the final draft forms for the lower Highlands expansion, which will be sent to the MHC and submitted to the Planning Board.
- Old Business: Freemans purchase marker update. — The commission will receive an update on the Freemans purchase marker project.
- Old Business: The Central Fire Station update. — The commission will receive an update on the Central Fire Station.
- Old Business: The Fire Museum North Main Street update. — The commission will receive an update on the Fire Museum located on North Main Street.
- Old Business: The Little Theater, Prospect Street update. — The commission will receive an update on the Little Theater located on Prospect Street.
- Old Business: The Bio-Reserve Part Two of researching historic sites update. — The commission will receive an update on the ongoing research regarding historic sites in the Bio-Reserve.
