The City Council’s Committee on Ordinances and Legislation meets Thursday at 5 p.m. to take up a number of resolutions. On the agenda is a discussion about creating a special committee to look at school transportation. The group will also talk about development, traffic, and parking concerns along the Route 79 and Davol Street corridor. Also up for review are city rules for outdoor billboards and the process for naming city properties like parks and buildings.
The Historical Commission has a full plate for its meeting Tuesday evening at 6. Commissioners will discuss a proposal to use the property at 158 Bedford Street as a Memorial Park. They will also consider a request for a letter of support for the Globe Mills Property. A presentation is scheduled for renovations to a historic home at 690 County Street, and City Councilor Christ Peckham is slated to discuss a stone marker commemorating the Freeman purchase. The commission will also get updates on several projects, including the installation of new windows at the Anawan Number Six Fire Museum and progress on the Bank Street Armory.
Kicking off the week, the Fall River School Committee meets Monday afternoon at 4:30. The meeting is scheduled at Kuss Middle School for a professional development workshop. No other business items are listed on the public agenda.
The Atlantis Charter School Board of Trustees is scheduled to meet Wednesday at 5:15 p.m. The agenda appears light, with the main item of new business being a vote to approve the school’s fiscal year 2026 annual report.
